Azzalure 125 speywood units is considered by experts to be a valid treatment to improve the face and prevent it from being disfigured by the passing of time and facial expressions, such as smiles and wrinkling of the forehead. In fact, the stresses force the muscles to contract and this movement leads to wrinkles in the long run. It should be noted that the product has been tested on adults, subjects aged 18 and over, while there are no known tests on pediatric patients nor under the age of majority.

In spite of everything, the product is in fact a medicine and therefore must necessarily be administered by qualified personnel in aesthetics, therefore capable of handling botulinum toxin and diluting it using suitable equipment and according to hygienic standards. The product must be reconstituted following the directions given in the package and with caution to avoid contamination. Each vial of Azzalure must be used specifically for a single treatment, i.e. it must be used only for one patient. If the product is left over, it must be disposed of safely according to the regulations in force in your country.

As for the dosages, only the doctor will properly evaluate the situation and decide how to behave: as a rule, if the patient is afflicted by glabellar lines, the dose of 50 Speywood units of Azzalure will be injected into different subdivisions: 10 Speywood units must be administered intramuscularly, at right angles to the skin surface, at specific points shown in the instructions for use of the drug. The injection points will be identified by eye observation and then a sort of palpation will be performed. Sometimes the doctor may ask the patient to frown or make special expressions for this purpose. Before injecting the drug, it is advisable to have a steady hand to place the thumb or index finger under the orbital rim. In this way the hand will not tremble and above all there will be no accidental spread of the product in the underlying areas. On the other hand, you can risk ptosis, or lowering of the eyelid or lip. For this reason, it is best to avoid injecting the product near the levator upper eyelid muscle or in areas where this type of muscle is present. The effect of Azzalure lasts from 4 to 5 months after the promo treatment, but being temporary, it will have to be repeated cyclically to maintain the results.

Azzalure is also effective for lateral cantal wrinkles: the recommended dosage is 30 Speywood units to be divided into three injection sites, but everything is clearly indicated in the product's instruction sheet, which also expresses the methods of injection. In this case, it is performed lateral to the skin at an angle of 20-30 degrees on the superficial layer, in the external part of the ocular orbicular muscle and obviously away from the ocular edge area of at least 2 centimeters. Also in this case the doctor will have to search for the injection points and avoid causing lateral ptosis which would cause an asymmetrical and unsightly smile.

After prolonged injections of Azzalure, some patients may experience a decrease in the effect of Botox: after a careful evaluation, the doctor will consider increasing the dosage or attempting alternative interventions. It often happens that the body gets used to the botulinum toxin and treats it from a foreign body, developing antibodies and making the relaxing and paralyzing treatment ineffective. Normally, intervals should be made between one cycle and another and not to exceed 24 months of injections for 8 consecutive treatment cycles for glabellar wrinkles; up to 12 months of effectiveness with 5 consecutive treatment cycles for crow's feet.

Botulinum toxin and the excipients contained in Azzalure can cause hypersensitivity and are contraindicated in case of infections or diseases that are not compatible with botulinum toxin type A therapy. Azzalure can cause inability to drive or use machines, localized muscle weakness, visual disturbances, ptosis, diplopia, difficulty swallowing, muscle or respiratory paralysis, difficulty speaking: this means that you have most likely been subject to an overdose, therefore you should call your doctor or emergency room immediately for an intervention timely.
