Chin fillers
AESTHETIC SURGERY: THE CHILL FILLER
People who use fillers in the chin area do so for two reasons:
- AESTHETIC FACTOR: you want to minimize the excessive roundness of a face or jaw that is too long; you want to intervene on the wrinkles present on the area or go to sculpt a face that is too flat);
- HEALTH-RELATED FACTOR: over time serious ailments such as chewing problems, neck pain, back pain and headaches, ringing in the ears can occur. Damage often occurs during the individual's development phase, also following the presence of trauma, wrong attitudes or incorrect postures that have been assumed in the growth phase, but it can also be the result of a genetic and hereditary factor.
THE VARIOUS TYPES OF CHIN FILLERS
We currently have two types of FILLER application in the chin area. We have in fact the TEMPORARY FILLER (with hyaluronic acid and lasting for a maximum of two years), and the PERMANENT FILLER (completely synthetic and long lasting). The latter are the most advised against in the medical field as none of them have yet been approved by the FDA (FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION).
WHAT TYPE OF HYALURONIC ACID TO USE FOR CHIN?
The most suitable are the high molecular weight and high viscosity fillers as they are more soluble and better hydrate the treated area, also protecting from sudden tensions that could occur.The filler is inoculated in the fold between the mouth and lower chin or at the sides and corners of the mouth. Usually there is no allergy or side effects but in a few cases swelling and nodules may occur (to resort to hyaluronidase).
BEFORE AND AFTER THE TREATMENT
In most cases, those who resort to this type of fillerha what is called "elusive chin", and in fact in the area between the chin and jaw (called the area of the lower third), we find a very delicate area in which with the passage of time we have muscle relaxation where the tissues tend to drop downwards very quickly. Thanks to the use of hyaluronic acid, we increase the volume of the chin which allows us to resurrect the old features and redesign the contour of the jaw creating a line between the neck and face. The change is immediately noticeable but the final set-up takes at least a month to be well defined.
DURATION OF THE FILLER
Depending on the type of filler chosen, we have a different shelf life as the substance is absorbed at different times. Absorption can be slow, lasting about 1 year; medium with a duration of 5 or 6 months and finally rapid if it persists for a couple of months. The duration also depends on the quantity of the material that is injected. If we resort to slow absorption, local anesthesia is usually practiced since the chin area is an extended area that takes a long time and could cause pain to the patient. The most recommended filler is certainly the one slow absorption where hyaluronic acid is injected in the form of larger particles which allow for more volumetric increase. This filler is injected into the dermis, in depth, and there is no risk of the product dispersing elsewhere
